Idalou Independent School District

Idalou Independent School District is a public school district based in Idalou, Texas (USA) that serves students in northeastern Lubbock County.

Idalou ISD has three schools, all of which share a single campus – Idalou High (Grades 9-12), Idalou Middle (Grades 5-8), and Idalou Elementary (Grades PK-4).

The mascot of all three schools is the Wildcat.

Matthew S. Brown is a football and track and field coach at Idalou High School, who is a gold and bronze winner in the Parapan American Games despite the loss of his left leg, amputated above the knee as a result of an industrial accident in December 2005. In September 2007, Brown won a gold medal in the discus, having set a record throw of 154 feet and 9 inches, and a bronze in the shot put at the Parapan games held in Rio de Janiero.[1]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[2]
